The in-screed cable system is a low cost solution for new builds & extensions where a new sand & cement screed is being poured. This cable is also ideal for use below thick stone & flagstone type flooring

Making the right choice - Choosing the right system of underfloor heating for you is not as difficult as you might think. Simply use the table below, developed by us, to help you identify the most suitable system for you:

Room Type

Floor Covering

Under Tile/stone/slate

Under Laminate / hardwood floating floor

Other, eg capet/vinyl

Conservatory

System - Use 200w/sqm cable mat system, or our cable kit system (min 150w per sqm)

Insulation - Insulate floor using tile-backer insulation board or other suitable insulation system

System - Use the 160w carbon heating film.

Insulation - If possible use 2 layers of 6mm Depron insulating underlay (this is especially important if floor is not insulated!)

System - If no screed is present choose our heavy duty in-screed cable.

If screed is present choose our 160w carbon film & overlay with plywood.

Please contact us for further advice.

Wet Room (eg bathroom/en-suite)

System - Cable kit system at min 150w/sqm

Insulation - Insulate floor using tile-backer board or other suitable insulation.

For bathrooms with a limited amount of usable floor space, s ee note.

This system requires advice so you will need to contact us for details.

System - If no screed is present, you can use our heavy duty in-screed cable.

If installing onto a timber floor, you may be able to use our 'heatboard' system & overlay this with thin plywood.

This system requires advice so you will need to contact us for details.

Other room type (e.g kitchen/lounge/office etc)

System - Cable kit system OR cable mat at 150w/sqm on insulated floor.

For kitchens with a limited amount of usable floor space, see note.

Insulation - Single layer of 6mm depron insulation/underlay.

For kitchens with a limited amount of usable floor space, see note.

System -

If no screed is present, choose our heavy duty in-screed cable

Please contact us for further advice.

Note (Limited Floor Space)

The effectiveness of underfloor heating is related to the ratio of room size to available floor space. Modern kitchen and bathroom design can limit the amount of useable floor space available (after deducting area taken up by units, baths etc), in such instances underfloor heating may not always be able to provide the sole heat source for the room. We can provide solutions tailored to your needs (including heated towel rails), please contact us for advice.

Primary heating
In most cases CozyHeat systems can be used as the principal /main source of room heating. The effectiveness of underfloor heating is dependent on the room having adequate levels of insulation. If you are installing our products in an old, poorly insulated property, we strongly recommend that you contact us for advice or have a heat-loss calculation done to ensure the system will meet your requirements.
