Underfloor Heating for Under Wood/Laminate - Fitting Download instructions here

Fitting Instructions Carbon heating film - The perfect solution for heating wood or laminate floors.

Electrical Work
Electrical connection to the mains should be undertaken by qualified electrician or installer - the photographs show the before & after with a solid wall, but hollow 'plasterboard' walls are usually less work.

DIY Installation

1. Lay 6mm Depron insulation over the existing floor, taping sheets together to form a single 'floating floor' required for wood & laminate flooring.

Where possible 2 layers ( 12mm in total ) are recommended in conservatories or un-insulated floors.

2. Roll the carbon heating film out in accordance with the plan/drawing supplied with the kit (don't forget each kit will be tailor-made to fit your room).

3. Make small cut outs in the Depron to allow the ‘slim-line' electrical connectors in each mat sit flush with the floor. Depron insulation is incredibly easy to cut with craft or ‘Stanley' knife.

4. Lay out the floor sensor probe to measure the floor temperature. Tape probe in position

5. Take the 2 cables (one black, 1 red) form each mat and lay them out around the edge of the room so that they meet at the connection box point.

6. At the connection box, connect the cables into the junction box as directed in the instructions provided this then connects to the thermostat & power.

7. Lastly, you are ready to lay out the plastic moisture sheet (supplied) & your new wood or laminate floor, paying attention to the manufacturers fitting instructions & recommended expansion gaps etc.

8. Once your floor is fitted you may turn on the heating system, sit back and enjoy.
